Who we are

SportIQ (“SportIQ”, “we”, “us”) is an Australian sports media platform that publishes AI-curated news, analysis and tools. We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Our ABN is 95 321 172 973.

What we collect

The information we hold is deliberately minimal:

• Your email address— only if you choose to join our waitlist or contact us. We don’t ask for your name, phone number or address.
• Basic technical data— like your browser type and general region, collected automatically by our hosting provider to keep the site running and secure. We don’t build advertising profiles from it.
• On-device preferences— some features (quizzes, predictions, referee voting) save small amounts of data in your browser’s local storage. This stays on your device. See our Cookie Policy.

How we use it

We use the limited information we collect to:

• send you the updates or launch notifications you signed up for;
• respond to messages you send us;
• operate, secure and improve the website.

We do notsell your personal information, and we don’t use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers that help us run SportIQ:

• Google Firebase (hosting, database and storage), which processes data on Google Cloud infrastructure;
• Resend, which delivers the confirmation and update emails you ask for.

These providers may store data on servers outside Australia (including the United States and the EU). We only use reputable providers that are contractually bound to protect your information.

Sports data & AI content

Match data, statistics and imagery are sourced from third parties such as api-sports.io and do not contain your personal information. Much of our editorial content is generated by AI and is provided for information and entertainment only — see our Terms of Service.

Keeping it secure

We use industry-standard safeguards and access controls. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we hold very little personal information by design, which keeps the risk low.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you;
• correct it if it’s wrong;
• delete it (for example, unsubscribe and remove your email).

Just email hello@sportiq.auand we’ll action it promptly. If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled a privacy matter, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

Children

SportIQ is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 15. We don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the “last updated” date above and, where the change is significant, do our best to let waitlist members know.
